This 2013 Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc is the perfect addition to any early in the day date. It pairs beautifully with simple sandwiches and your favorite cheese. On the nose, this Sauvignon Blanc begins on has fragrant aromas of white peach and bright white flowers. Stone fruit and honeydew melon come through on the palate, followed by ripe grapefruit. Associate Winemaker John Hazak used lees stirring, which contributed to the smooth viscosity and silky mouth-feel of this bright and fragrant wine. ($17.77).

For a casual later in the day date with your special someone, Sterling Napa Valley Chardonnay is the wine to sip in the backyard or on your patio with some grilled shrimp or fish. For those fortunate enough to have a grill, backyard, or patio to spend a sunny spring day on, this Chard will surely please! This wine is very much a typical California Chardonnay with rich, golden characters. Ripe yellow apple skins and citrus fruit fill the glass, and are accompanied by lingering but flagrant oak spices. The barrel contribution leaves a honey and almond impression across the finish, which is striking and beautiful. This elegant, full-bodied Chardonnay can stand up to seafood, grilled meats, and grilled vegetables with no problem. ($17.99).

If you’re fortunate enough to have a favorite BYOB near you, the Sterling Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a must-have! Red is a year round wine, and shouldn’t be locked in the cellar just because it’s warm out. This wine has intense aromas of toasty oak and spice that unfold with layers of cardamom, cedar, dark chocolate and anise. On the mouth this wine is velvety, plush and round, making it great with grilled meats, spring vegetable risotto, or pasta with mushrooms and cream sauce. The palate delivers layers of red fruit, brown sugar, and black licorice, which are complimented by chocolaty tannins that melt into a long finish. The cooler vintage left a lift of acid that makes it perfect for pairing with food. ($27.99).

Celebrating something extra special this spring? Sterling Platinum is the culmination of Sterling’s finest grapes and state-of-the-art winemaking. Dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, this classic Bordeaux-style blend has a big, inky-black color with forward aromas of cocoa, espresso, toast and black currant. A bold mouthfeel thats full bodied with notes of black-cherry intensely takes over your palate, leaving you with smooth tannins and caramel pastry notes that extend into a long and satisfying finish.
