demarchelier NYCI had the pleasure of dining at Demarchelier Restaurant on the Upper East Side. This French restaurant is absolutely exquisite and offers organic, natural, and grass-fed ingredients that they source directly from farms close to NY! It’s a great spot with plenty of room and yet it has an intimate feel that makes you feel right at home. The service, menu, and ambiance is impressive, with attentive staff, great wine selection, and an even better menu.

When I arrived, I was greeted by a very friendly woman named Alexandra. She is really fantastic and offers great menu suggestions based on your taste preferences as well as wine or cocktail selection. demarchelier NYCThere is something for everyone on the menu, both vegetarian and non-vegetarian. ! started out with the Helix Escargots De Bretagne with Garlic Butter, and it was one of the best dishes I have ever had! The presentation was great but the taste, the flavors of garlic, and freshly cooked escargots was just perfection. After that, I decided to try the Steak Tartare, which is a big hit here and is an absolute must order if you enjoy this dish. Alongside the Steak Tartare was a delicious appetizer special of White Asparagus, which Demarchelier NYCwas heavenly, especially when paired with the Grapefruit Rosemary Mule and Le Normandie Cocktails!

Demarchelier also has a great wine list to pair with their wide array of appetizers, entrees, and sides. For mains, I decided to try the Filet Mignon, with Creamed Spinach and Potatoes, as well as the Rainbow Trout with a side of roasted vegetables. The trout, which I was surprised I ordered (I don’t order fish too often due to my love of red meat) but it was highly recommended by Alexandra, and she was right… it was fantastic! It came perfectly done with the right amount of sauce to spice ratio and was absolutely delicious. Paired, I decided to Demarchelier NYCstart with a Provence Rosé, and then moved onto Bordeaux! What’s great here is that if you are in between a wine or two, you can taste (as long as it’s offered by the glass) as well as receive recommendations from the knowledgeable staff.

To end the evening with something sweet, I had to try the Trou Normand, which is Green Apple Sorbet with Calvados! Calvados is an apple brandy that’s great over ice Demarchelier NYCcream and sorbets, as well as great for sipping. Alongside the boozy dessert was a Pear Tart which I paired with a glass of Armagnac Cht De Laubade V.S.O.P.

Overall the experience here was beyond exceptional! I think Alexandra along with the other staff members really made the experience great, and when combined with incredible French cuisine, great cocktails, and wines, it’s simply a great time. Be sure to make a reservation at Demarchelier Restaurant, NYC if you’re in the mood for top-notch French fare! Demarchelier is now one of the top restaurants in my book, and I highly recommend going there soon.
