I had the opportunity to attend a fantastic wine trip in early June in the wine region of Temecula Valley, CA! The food and wine scene here is absolutely incredible and it’s the perfect area for a wine tasting weekend filled with beauty, gastronomy, and even some wellness.

One of the wineries we visited was Danza del Sol. This winery is stunning and upon arrival we were greeted with a glass of the Espumosa which is their sparkling wine and it’s full of pear, flowers, and green apple. It was the perfect sip before getting into the UTV’s for the Grapes & Gears Tour which is a must do if you’re visiting this winery.

This unforgettable Grapes & Gears UTV Tour, guides you through an exclusive Temecula Wine Country experience like no other. It’s a personalized 1.5-hour adventure that is perfect for groups of up to 10 and takes you through scenic vineyards aboard six-seater UTVs. Along the way, we tasted some incredible wines with Walter the hospitality and sales director who immersed us in the rich history of the valley. These tours take place on Saturdays and Sunday’s and you do need a reservation but it’s so worth it. It was great getting up close to the vines, sipping wine in the vineyards, and learning about the varietals, winery, and what makes them stand out in Temecula.

We then sat down in the winery barrel room where they host beautiful private events, and tasted through some more wines while overlooking the vineyards; it was magical. They collaborate with a local chef and caterer Bella Lina where they have specialty charcuterie picnic boxes that perfectly pair with the wines. I was blown away by the simplicity of the snacks and the perfect pairings. Justin Knight, Winemaker is a Temecula native and wonderfully talented at his craft. He took the time to come out and speak to us about the wines we tasted including the Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, Rosé of Grenache, and the Super Tuscan.

If you’re visiting Temecula Valley for a great weekend getaway this tour is ideal. Not only will you love the complexity of the wines but the hospitality team is top notch too. While in the UTV we learned that the name “Danza del Sol,” means “Dance of the Sun” in Spanish. This was chosen to reflect the vibrant, sunny climate of Temecula Valley and the lively, welcoming atmosphere of the winery.

Danza del Sol Winery focuses on producing approachable, Mediterranean-style wines, which are well-suited to the warm climate of the region. You’ll notice they have native grapes to the region and the ones we know like Chardonnay and Syrah, but then they also offer Albarino, Vermentino, and Pinot Grigio!

Be sure to check out this tour and make it one of the stops during your Temecula Valley wine weekend. You can find out all the information on Temecula and the amazing things to do HERE.
