The McBride Sisters have done it again! Robin McBride and Andréa McBride John, founders of McBride Sisters Collection, Inc. have partnered with the soulful and joyus Patti LaBelle and her new cookbook LaBelle Cuisine: Recipes to Sing About! They have come up with a fun package as a book club, where you can enjoy the McBride Sisters wine, Black Girl Magic with some delicious recipes from the book.

I was able to join virtually on July 13th, where they shared their favorite recipes from the new book as well as what pairings to go along. I am in love with many of the recipes and can’t wait to try them. The wines, I have always been a fan of McBride Sisters wine, however this was my first time trying the Black Girl Magic line, and I was very excited to see such a nice range.

The Riesling is fun and playful with plenty of stone fruit and white flowers as well as some honey. I love a good riesling, and although am more partial to an Old World style riesling, I must say, California makes some good ones too!

The Bubbly is made from Chenin Blanc and Chardonnay and boasts nice pear, white flowers, and white peach. It’s a great wine with many of the recipes including some of the comfort food ones. I also really liked the Rosé, because its nice and dry, with great acidity, and is great with the lighter recipes; also an ideal summer wine!

I was also able to taste the Merlot which was nice with aromas of cherry, cocoa, and silky tannins. I happen to also love merlot, so I am a bit biased, but if you enjoy merlot, this one is great. I absolutely recommend it with some of the recipes with a cream sauce, or something meat driven.

If you’re thinking of joining the book club, you can find it on the McBride sisters website for $149.99.

Always remember, eat what you like and drink what you love; please pair responsibly!
