July is National Grilling Month! One of my favorite things to do when I go home and visit my mom, is to grill up some delicious food and drink wine outside in the backyard! Living in NYC I do have some outdoor space, but there’s nothing like being with the ones you love sharing some great bottles.

Thanks to 7 Deadly Zins and Rufus Teague I was able to grill up some amazing burgers! I used the amazing Steak Rub on the burgers which gave them incredible flavor. I was so impressed with the rub, as it smells amazing and really matched well with the wines too. The Honey BBQ Sauce was a great topping for the burgers, and I simply brushed some on the top before putting the cheese on.

The theme of the BBQ dinner was Burgers + Burrata and it was so much fun pairing with the 7 Deadly Zins Zinfandel and the Deadly Cab! I especially love the Zinfandel with the burgers, because the juicy fruit combined with the lingering finish really pairs beautifully with a cheeseburger. I topped it with some pickles, to give it a little “zing” and it was playful with the luscious blackberry and sweet baking spice notes in the wine.

The burrata was my favorite with the Cabernet, because for one I love cabernet and cheese, and two we had grilled tomatoes alongside the cheese, so the char of the grill on the sweet Jersey tomatoes combined with the creamy burrata, was just heaven!

If you’re looking for delicious wines from Lodi, one of my favorite areas of California for wine, then you’ll want to try 7 Deadly Zins! Their wines are absolutely perfect to pair with BBQ, burgers, burrata and so much more. When it comes to choosing quality wines every palate will love, I always go to 7 Deadly Zins because they have a style that works so well with and without food!

Always remember, eat what you like and drink what you love. Please pair responsibly!
