unspecifiedThe Peninsula Hotel located on Fifth Avenue in New York City is home to some incredible cocktail bars and a rooftop lounge with stunning views of New York. I recently visited Salon de Ning — a very sexy rooftop terrace, where I enjoyed breathtaking views and a Birds Eye cocktail made with hot pepper-infused Maestro Dobel Tequila, agave syrup, muddled raspberry, and lime juice. Vibrant and spicy, this cocktail totally hits the spot on a warm spring or summer night! IMG_5081

Salon de Ning is inspired by the tale of Madame Ning, a celebrated Shanghai socialite, world traveller and international hostess, who presided over salons in her stylish residences around the world. She was known for making her friends and guests feel at home in a warm and welcoming environment. She was a collector of objects from her many travels, which inspired the eclectic and beautiful design of Salon de Ning. This rooftop and terrace antique and modern paintings, photography, Moroccan lanterns, and Chinese screens. As you approach the 23rd floor, you pass through a corridor adorned with Venetian mirrors and intricately carved Chinese screens; it’s simply stunning.

Salon de Ning is the perfect spot for cocktails, wines by the glass, and seasonal small plates. Thai Shrimp Rolls, Madame Ning’s Avocado Mousse, and Summer Scallop Ceviche paired with a Birds Eye or Ning Sling cocktail is just the night out you need this season!

The Ning Sling, signature cocktail of Salon de Ning, is appreciated for its tart high-spirited kick. Bring a little “Paris of the East” to your own “salon.”
