This hot summer weather has been calling for some chill-worthy red wines! I had the pleasure of trying a Malbec recently as well as another wine I love and gave them a bit of a chill, and wow… was my afternoon changed!

Chilled red wines are becoming increasingly popular as people love red wine, so why not drink it in the heat? The issue many times is finding delicious red wines that are great at room temperature, as well as with a slight chill for a hot day. Luckily here are two wines you’ll want to buy this weekend that you can chill a bit, to enjoy by the pool, in the backyard, and more.

Coen Classic Malbec– This chill-worthy red wine is ideal for cheeses, salads, and burgers. You can also throw a pizza on the grill (or order takeout), and this would be amazing too. It’s an elegant medium bodied wine with freshness, balsamic notes, and nice ripe fruit. The finish is fresh with some lovely mint and nice roundness. Overall this is a great wine to give a chill to, and enjoy anytime!

Acrobat 2018 Pinot Noir– I love Acrobat wines because they’re all very palate friendly, true to the grape varietal, and great for anytime. The 2018 vintage is a beautiful example of Pinot Noir from a consistent and warmer than average West Oregon growing season. The color garnet with bright ruby edges and the nose is rich, fruity, and bright. I love the raspberry and cherry notes in this wine that follow through to the palate complete with baking spices. This is a great wine to chill, and can easily pair with beets, burrata, grilled fish, and aged cheeses!

For those of you looking for some great wines and are interested in giving yours a bit of a chill, absolutely try these two. They’re budget friendly, food friendly, and super delicious. Everyone I have tasted these wines on, absolutely loves them!

Always remember, eat what you like and drink what you love. Please pair responsibly.
