I wanted to try something new with my blog posts this time. I decided to do a food and wine pairing with seafood because after 12 years of being allergic to shellfish, I am finally able to eat it! They say your body changes every 7 years.. well mine took a little longer but I have never been happier!

This 2011 Domaine Felines Jourdan, Picpoul De Pinet, from southern France in the Languedoc Appellation, was given to me by Arno, a regional sales manager for Gabriella Wines in my WSET Level 3 classes at The International Wine Center in New York, NY. This wine is 100% Picpoul grape variety and produces a wine that is absolutely delightful to drink and paired excellent with my angel hair, sauteed shrimp, zuchinni, onions, garlic, and red peppers!

With intense aromas of lemon, apple, and pear, this wine also has some fennel and spicy notes to it as well. On the palate you will notice more red apple and plump pear along with those spice and mineral notes found in the aromas. This wine is richer then I expected especially when leaving it to open up in the glass where I found more candied fruit notes, making it so much fun to drink!
