Hurricane Sandy was headed toward New Jersey late Sunday evening and Monday morning. My mother and I thought it would be fun to get in a sushi night in because we knew everything was going to close for up to a week. The one place that delivered late at night right before the hurricane hit was Oyako Tso’s in Freehold, NJ. I have been going to this sushi place for years it is absolutely fantastic! They have such a fast delivery time and great service, but what I love about this hidden gem is that you can literally order anything off the menu, even the Hibatchi dinner!

We decided to get the Tuna Dumplings, Tuna & asparagus Roll, and Shrimp Shumai which went very well with the 2011 Brancott Estate Sauvignon Blanc! The wine is extremely well-balanced with mouth-watering  acidity and tropical fruit flavors of passion fruit and gooseberry that are beautiful and bright on the nose and linger on the palate with a very nice fresh citrus & bell pepper finish. This wine is a great buy for about $11.79 retail and can drink for the neat year. Brancott Estate is a fantastic winery in Marlborough, NZ full of great Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, and Pinot Noir.

Sorry again for the late post, but until today I did not have power or internet. I will make sure to post a few times this week as we survived Sandy with many bottles of wine!
