IMG_7862-2-1024x682Escape to Loudoun Country in Virginia for some amazing food and wine experiences. I know most of you are probably reading this thinking, “Virginia… wine…what”? I thought the same thing too. As a sommelier, I know many wine regions and know that each state does “make” their own wine, but little did I know that Virginia was producing some unique and delicious wines.

This Labor Day Weekend (2014), experience the best VA has to offer at Epicurience Virginia in partnership with Saveur Magazine. From August 29th-September 1st, celebrate the rich culinary scene, talk with tastemakers, and taste some new wines that will pair perfectly with your food.

EpiC-2013-08-31-1030-1    Chefs participating in the demonstration pavilion sponsored by Sterling Restaurant Supply include TV host, author and chef Nathalie Dupree,  Shannon Overmiller from The Majestic (Alexandria), Scott Drewno of The Source by, Wolfgang Puck (DC) and Jason Alley with Pasture  & Comfort (Richmond & Charlottesville). Ingredients for the demonstrations are being sourced from Ayrshire Farm.

Attendees also have a chance to win the Ultimate EpiC-2013-08-31-1113-1Winemaker Experience during the Speed Blending Competition sponsored by the Loudoun Winery Association. At the end of the day, a winner will be selected to spend time over the next year working with a winemaker to help create a wine to be released at Epicurience Virginia 2015.

Attendees seeking a more intimate food and wine experience can buy VIP tickets to get into Early Mountain Vineyards’ airstream, designed after its tasting room, and the VIP tent furnished by Bella Villa and featuring one of a kind tastings.

What are your Labor Day plans? Don’t have any? Now you do!
