Just off Broadway, and steps from some of Nashville’s best bars: Play Playground delivers something refreshingly different: a bar-meets-playground experience that reminds you how fun going out can be.
I stopped by for a media visit to experience the space and check out their First Responder promotion, and I’ll be honest, this is one of the most genuinely fun date nights my husband and I have had in a long time. For the whole experience check out my video HERE on instagram, you’ll see how much play there really is! Most of my content is video from my experience, but here are a few of the date night photos I captured when I wasn’t moving, dancing, playing, or eating and drinking.
A First Responder Deal Worth Showing Up For
Through February 11, 2026 first responders receive:
-
A FREE appetizer
-
A standard play pass
My husband is a first responder, and this deal alone makes Play Playground a no brainer. But even beyond the perk, the experience itself is what sold us.
A Bar That Lets You Play (and Laugh)
From the moment you walk in, the energy is contagious. The space was packed—but never felt overwhelming. That’s the magic here: there’s so much to do that you’re never stuck waiting around. Games are spread throughout the venue, so crowds move naturally and everything keeps flowing.
We played:
-
11 rounds of Connect 4 (yes, 11—and yes, my husband declared victory 🏆)
-
Multiple rounds of tic-tac-toe
-
Plus plenty of wandering, sipping, and people-watching between games
It’s impossible not to get a little competitive, but in the best, most playful way. Somewhere between round seven and eight of Connect 4, we realized we hadn’t laughed this much in months. The rooftop bar is a highlight. Even on an icy night, it was buzzing, and if the weather had cooperated, heading outside would’ve been a no brainer. On a warm evening, this space alone could make Play Playground a go-to pregame or nightcap spot.
What makes Play Playground special isn’t just the games, it’s how effortlessly it brings people together. You don’t need a plan. You don’t need to dress up or down. You just show up, grab a drink, and let the space do the rest.
For couples especially, it’s a reminder of something we often forget: play changes everything. It sparks connection, lightens the mood, and turns a regular night out into a memory. Whoever came up with this concept absolutely nailed it. Play Playground feels like being a kid again—but with cocktails, a rooftop bar, and zero pressure to “do it right.”
We loved it so much that on the way home, my husband asked, “So… when are we going back?”
That’s always the sign of a win. First responders: don’t miss your FREE appetizer + standard play pass through February 11. And if you’re looking for a fun, low-effort, high-reward date night near Broadway—this one’s it.
