This year’s fall guide is the biggest I’ve ever done! It took a lot of tasting (and even more waiting), but I’m thrilled to finally share with you my curated lineup of wines, paired with beautiful glassware and gifting ideas from Somm in the Grove. From sparkling celebratory bottles to soulful reds, and thoughtful gifts you’ll want to bookmark for the rest of 2025—this is your ultimate seasonal resource.
Sparkling & Celebration Wines
House of Henkel Méthode Cap Classique- South Africa delivers gorgeous traditional method sparkling here. Expect crisp green apple, toasted brioche, and a lively citrus finish, making this a perfect aperitif or festive brunch pour. Henkel has deep roots in South Africa’s winemaking history, and this bottle reflects their commitment to both quality and sustainability.
Mirabella Franciacorta Edea Rosé: From Italy’s Franciacorta region, this elegant rosé bubbles with wild strawberry, rose petal, and almond biscotti notes. Ideal with smoked salmon canapés or roasted beet salads. Mirabella is known for its organic vineyards and multi-generational family dedication, bringing finesse and authenticity to every bottle. This bottle is one I will sip anytime, anywhere but I especially love it with fall flavors!
Lamoreaux Landing Sparkling Riesling: Finger Lakes Riesling done sparkling! Bursting with juicy peach, honeysuckle, and a zesty mineral edge, this bottle is both refreshing and refined. Upon first sip you will feel the WOW, and enjoy every last sip from the bottle. This is a wine I could not put down, due to its vibrancy, playfulness, and passion. Lamoreaux Landing is a third-generation Finger Lakes producer, recognized for their commitment to sustainable vineyard practices, and one of the best wine producers in the area in my opinion. If you’re looking for luxurious wines with great minimality, body, and style… then you must try their sparkling wines!
Quinta Nova 2022: Portugal continues to impress me this year. The 2022 vintage offers ripe red cherry, plum, and baking spice, wrapped in silky tannins—so versatile for fall stews. I also paired it with a Denver steak from our farm to table butcher and it paired beautifully. This wine is youthful, lush, and mineral driven. This is an ideal red for fall, Quinta Nova is one of the Douro’s historic estates, with centuries of tradition and vineyards managed with respect for biodiversity. This wine has great volume, a stunning finish, and will just be your favorite from first to last sip.
2022 Comboio Do Vesuvio: Deep, powerful, and layered with blackberry compote, graphite, and a touch of cocoa. A wine from one of the greatest estates in the Douro! Also handpicked grapes and some of that beautiful Portuguese style, it’s a serious wine that demands slow-simmered short ribs, pumpkin risotto, or even nice grilled bison steak. The Symington family has been making wine in Portugal for generations, with a strong emphasis on sustainable viticulture, and I happen to love almost everything I have tried from their amazing portfolio of wines.
Bodegas Protos “Carroa”: An incredible wine that pays tribute to the village of Roa, tracing the ancient paths and history of Ribera del Duero. It is made from 100 % Tinta del País, sourced from vineyards over 50 years old planted across varied altitudes and soils in Burgos. After manual harvesting and malolactic fermentation, the wine is aged 16 months in French oak barrels, followed by 8 months in large French oak vats and a finishing touch in concrete eggs. the nose reveals a complex bouquet of ripe black and red fruits with hints of vanilla, cedar, spice, and that rustic Spanish touch. On the palate, it offers a velvety texture, refined volume, and balanced freshness — elegant yet expressive. This wine is ideal with a big hearty meal and by the fire pit!
2022 Quinta Do Vesuvio Pombal: Elegant structure with violets, blueberry, and warm spice. A handpicked wine and very characteristic of the Douro valley. A modern Portuguese gem to cellar or enjoy now. Like its sibling, it reflects the Symingtons’ dedication to responsible land stewardship and artisanal winemaking, and is absolutely phenomenal.
Quinta da Fonte Souto: Florão 2024 Blanco: Fresh and lively with citrus blossom, pear, and white peach. A wine that was delicious until the last drop, and is so ideal for fall with a nice cheese board. Pair with smoked cheddar or a gouda, maybe a Mimolette, as well as some apples, fall jams, or classic pumpkin butter and brie. This is such a smooth, delicious, and refreshing white wine that will wow anyone who tastes it! An excellent white for roast chicken or creamy pastas. This project, also backed by the Symington family, highlights sustainability and exploration in Alentejo’s unique terroirs.
Quinta da Fonte Souto: Florão 2024 Tinto: The red sibling offers Red forest fruits, fig, raspberries and rose garden, wrapped in polished tannins. A cozy wine for cool evenings, showing the winery’s deep respect for harmony between grape and land. I absolutely loved this with a thinner steak, but it can also be enjoyed for pasta dishes, stews, and anything comforting for fall. It works well with those warming spice flavors and should be savored over a nice dinner with good company. This wine is from the unique Fonte Souto terroir, and you can truly taste the magic of the land.
Rosé & Light Sips
Chapelle Gordonne Rosé: Always a favorite of mine and a wine I just can’t put down once it’s in my glass. This wine is literally “Provence perfection”, with raspberry, watermelon, and lavender. It’s bright, crisp, and endlessly drinkable, and should be a staple wine in your home! Chapelle Gordonne is fully organic, a leader in sustainable viticulture in Provence, and an outstanding producer.
Pink Flamingo Gris de Gris: A Camargue rosé with white peach, citrus zest, and sea spray minerality. Probably one of my favorite rosés right now, it was amazing during summer and ca easily be paired with delicious fall cheese boards and snack bowls too. Ideal with seafood or fall grain bowls, this certified organic rosé reflects the wild coastal environment of southern France.
J. de Villebois Pinot Noir Rosé: A vibrant wine that will take you from summer into fall with ease. From the Loire, this Pinot Rosé shows cranberry, strawberry leaf, and a touch of spice—perfect for fall picnics. I absolutely love this wine and would even break it out for the holiday season, so buy a few to always have on hand. Villebois is family-owned and dedicated to preserving Loire terroir through sustainable practices and producing amazing wines.
Domaine Font Sante 2020 Muscat: Perfumed with orange blossom, lychee, and honeyed apricot, this Muscat is luscious and exotic. I always love to feature a wine on the sweeter side because it’s perfect with a baked brie with a fall spin, as well as cinnamon, pears, desserts, apples, and more. This wine is so delicious and a must have to sip and gift all season long. A small, artisanal estate producing organic wines, Domaine Font Sante focuses on preserving heritage varieties.
2023 Albert Bichot Pouilly-Fuissé: Classic Burgundy Chardonnay with buttered pear, hazelnut, and chalky minerality. It’s absolutely stunning, layered with the beautiful fruit, texture, and warming hazelnut notes. It’s a wine that will prep your palate for fall flavors and can pair so well with them. Pair with creamy soups, roast chicken, or with your Thanksgiving bird, because this wine is made for food. Bichot is a sixth-generation family house with certified sustainable vineyards across Burgundy.
2022 Lamoreaux Landing Dry Riesling: Finger Lakes Riesling at its best: lime zest, green apple, and a mouthwatering acidity. Honestly Lamoreaux is one of the top producers in the finger lakes, and one of my favorite wineries. I have fallen head over heels with almost every single one of their wines, so except a full story very soon. This is a winery not to miss, and is a winery dedicated to sustainability and family-driven craftsmanship. This is the perfect fall wine with goat cheese, butternut squash, and absolutely needs to be out for Thanksgiving!
Zantho Grüner Veltliner: Austria’s Grüner shines with white pepper, pear, and crisp green herbs. A versatile food wine for fall vegetables, but I enjoyed it as an aperitif one night where I paired it with some Fortune Favors Sweet and Savory Pecans… and it just worked! Zantho emphasizes biodiversity in Burgenland, working closely with local growers, and it’s a grüner we all need to get!
2022 Domaine La Ferme Saint-Martin, Les Terrestres Jaunes: A Rhône red showing fresh herbs, blackberry, and earthy spice. I have not featured Rhone in a while, as I have been drinking Italian wines way more, but it’s French wines like these that remind me why I need to get back there and drink them more. This was elegant, rustic and soulful. Organically farmed in the Ventoux region, this domaine showcases purity of terroir, and you taste the passion and tradition in the wine with every last drop.
Artner Zweigelt Klassik: Austria’s Zweigelt brings red currant, violet, and a juicy brightness, perfect for roasted poultry. but I paired it with pizza in my Instagram post. I feel like we as Americans don’t drink enough Zweigelt and it’s time to change that! It’s fruity and fun, juicy and vibrant and really will appeal to many palates. This estate works with sustainable farming practices and careful cellar management, so you also know i’m all in support of that!
House of Henkel Pinotage: South Africa’s signature grape with plum, mocha, and smoky spice. A bold choice for grilled meats, made by a producer blending tradition with innovative approaches to sustainable winemaking. I have the pleasure of knowing the amazing women behind the brand, and this Pinotage is outstanding, and also available in Tennessee and they offer nationwide shipping!
Six Eighty Cellars Terracotta Pinot Noir: Silky Pinot Noir aged in amphora, showing cranberry, dried rose, and mineral lift. Small-batch, artisanal, and reflective of the Finger Lakes’ growing reputation for premium Pinot Noir. I had the pleasure of visiting this winery during Riesling Camp and it was phenomenal, their wines are very cool and so unique and express the perfect balance of fruit and terroir. This terracotta influence just added fun layers of complexity.
Castello Del Trebbio Chianti Superiore: Tuscan classic: sour cherry, leather, and earthy spice, ideal with pasta al pomodoro. The estate is deeply historic, family-run, and converted fully to organic farming. I paired this with my mom’s homemade lasagna and it was such a comforting pairing. This was one of the best chianti’s I have had in a long time. I would give this wine as a gift to everyone this holiday season, but it should also be a staple in your wine cellar
this fall.
Casadei Rosso Mediterraneo GSM 2022: A GSM blend with ripe blackberry, peppercorn, and Mediterranean herbs. Robust yet elegant, and oh so delicious. It was layered and complex but so drinkable from the second you pop the cork. This wine is from a biodynamic and organic-focused Tuscan estate, and was featured in this reel with a delicious salmon pairing, with the glassware you’ll find below!
Lamoreaux Landing 76 West 2022: A complex Finger Lakes red with black raspberry, cedar, and graphite minerality. Honestly one of the best New York red wines I have had in a very long time. This wine is bold, impressive, smooth, and full of that beautiful dark fruit. I was transported back to the Finger Lakes with one sip, and this wine is truly a luxury. Built for aging, and produced with tradition and sustainability, this wine is a gift to give to others, or to yourself, but either way is meant for a special night with a wonderful meal.
Glassware & Gifts
Pair these wines with beautifully crafted glassware and artisanal gifts that elevate every pour and plate:
Mardi Gras Flutes: Crystal Clear, festive, and perfect for sparkling wines. I had so much fun with these flutes and sipping from them. They’re a conversation piece that deserves some notice and if you enjoy fun, sip-able glassware that will wow your guests and can accommodate 6, then these are for you!
Ultima Avancé Monogrammed Burgundy Glasses: Elegant stemware that can be customized—I adore my “S” set. I received these from IWA Wine and let me tell you, they’re a huge hit now in my home. I love breaking them out anytime I can, and these are ideal for gifts for housewarming, holidays, and more.
Walnut Round Cheese board: A stunning board that can be personalized, making it a fantastic gift for hosts. I made a great brunch board on this, but also it’s my go-to cheese board set anytime I have one now when it’s just myself or maybe 2-3 people. It’s a perfect size all around and looks great against a kitchen backsplash as decor!
