Sara Lehman is a Certified Sommelier and Mixology Educator in New York. Beginning her career as a Pastry Chef and Private Chef, she takes wine and cocktail pairings to a whole new level! Starting as a pastry cook and working her way up through the ranks of the restaurant, she was inspired by it all! Sara received her Sommelier Training and Certification from the German Wine School, as well as the ISG, and did other wine training through the WSET Program where she went to Level III Advanced. Her Mixology training comes from being a Certified Bartender and working in restaurants and bars for over a decade.
Somm In The City was founded in 2013, while Sara was managing wine programs and restaurants in NJ. The inspiration for the blog came from Melody Kettle, when she worked with Hot From The Kettle, a popular food and wine blog. This led to the launch of Somm In The City, which is now not only a blog, but also a wine education company, and an Amenity Service in a Luxury Residential High Rise building. One Sixty Madison is a stunning luxury residential building Sara is the Private Sommelier and Lifestyle Curator for, for many years. This amenity service brings the best food and wine events to the residents, as well as wine travel planning, educational events, pairings, and so much more!
When Sara is not at One Sixty Madison throwing fabulous food, wine, and cocktail events, she is a Guest Sommelier of The Lodge at Woodloch, a Destination Spa where she teaches wine and mixology education!
