The holidays are here, and it’s time to start prepping for potlucks, parties, and gift giving galore! The other side of this time of year is all about cozy sweaters, friends and family, and of course, cookies. Krusteaz makes a line of premium baking mixes as well as an entire line of cookie mixes that are perfect for holiday parties and snow days.
Having a cookie swap? It’s a great holiday activity to do with co-workers, book clubs, and holiday parties. Sometimes the hardest part of a cookie swap is figuring out which recipe to make. Luckily for us, Krusteaz created a cookie swap calculator to help you find the perfect recipe. All you have to do is Enter the Cookie Swap Calculator, a fun quiz Krusteaz created that will help you find the perfect recipe.
I tried some Krusteaz cookie mixes to make my own cookie swap cookie bags for my office and it was a fun way to spend my chilly fall afternoon. I really enjoyed the chocolate chip cookie mix and snickerdoodle. Using some fancy winter inspired sprinkles as well as melting chocolate, I decided to make not the normal cookies and instead had a ton of fun making Snickerdoodle Sprinkle Cups, filled with chocolate and sprinkles as well as a Winter Inspired Chocolate Chip Cookie Pie, topped with rings of chocolate and sprinkles. The mix is really easy to make and tastes delicious. You can easily add other ingredients to the mixes too!
They also make a great sugar cookie mix that’s a fun activity to do when you want to have a wine lover’s cookie swap! How do you do that?
Step 1. Grab your best girlfriends or group of friends and set a date to do a wine and cookie swap night.
Step 2. Grab any or all the Krusteaz cookie mixes you want, plus chocolate chips, peppermints, edible gold and silver dust, red hot candies, nuts, and Hershey Kisses. While at the grocery store… grab some raspberries, cranberries, and blueberries (for the next step).
Step 3. Grab your favorite bottle of vino, and tell everyone to bring 1 white, sparkling, or red wine that they also enjoy. Grab a bottle of citrus liqueur, as well as Belle de Brillet (pear liqueur) for sparkling wine cocktails!
Step 4. Arrange everything on a table, complete with baking sheets, plenty of parchment paper, decorating supplies, cookie cutters, and more. Also, add a side table for the wine and cocktails to keep things fun and easy.
After Thanksgiving begins a very special time of holiday cheer. No matter what holidays you celebrate, the season of giving, growing, and love is upon us and it’s a great time to spend with loved ones, friends, and family. Cookie swaps are a great way to have an interactive and fun holiday gathering with friends.
Happy Holidays! Please pair responsibly!
