San Carlo Osteria Piemonte is a gem in SOHO, NY where you can enjoy cuisine from Piemonte, Italy. This traditional restaurant was born from six friends who wanted to share their culinary style and passion for Italian cuisine with the world.
Chef Riccardo Zebro will wow your palate with bold flavors, beautiful plating and presentation, and organic ingredients. I began my meal with the Burrata and Roasted Vegetables. I am a sucker for this style of cheese and anytime it is on a menu, I will order it. This dish paired beautifully with a glass of Nebbiolo Rose.
The wine selection here is palate friendly and focuses on, of course, great Italian wines. For the second course, I enjoyed some of Chef Zebro’s fresh made Italian Paccheri. The Paccheri “Cavalier Cocco” E Astice is “Cavalier Cocco” Paccheri Pasta with delicious chunks of Maine lobster and cherry tomatoes. It’s out of this world, and perfect portioned for sharing as a second course (only because you won’t be able to say no to an entree).
For the entrees, I enjoyed the Brasato Con Polenta Taragna, which is Braised Beef Cheek with Buckwheat and Corn Flour Polenta and Sauteed Spinach as well as the grilled Bronzino special, with roasted 
potatoes and fresh vegetables. San Carlo Osteria offers daily specials. The Bronzino here is a must have! The braised beef cheeks were perfectly cooked and shredded beautifully, which was perfect over the earthy and very creamy polenta. This dish is certainly comforting with a glass of Barolo or Nebbiolo!
Last, but certainly not least came the beautifully plated and delightfully decadent BöNET, which is a traditional Piemontese pudding with chocolate, caramel and amaretto. This was a sweet way to end a delicious dinner, and would pair beautifully with an after dinner drink or double espresso.
San Carlo Osteria Piemonte is the perfect place to bring friends or have a date night. The intimate and rustic setting is lovely and the service is fantastic. The atmosphere is quaint and calming (even during the dinner rush). If you’re seeking a spot in SOHO to dine and unwind with friends and loved ones over a great glass of wine and outstanding authentic Italian cuisine, San Carlo Osteria Piedmonte is the place to be!
